What is Soranib used for?
Soranib 200mg are used to treat advanced solid tumours, which are usually cancers with a poor prognosis and low survival rate. These cancers share similar genetic abnormalities resulting in loss of control of cell growth, inhibition of apoptosis (programmed cell death) and increased growth of the blood vessels that feed the tumour, all of which are essential for tumorigenesis (the process of transformation of normal cells into cancer cells). Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common form of liver cancer and is usually due to liver damage and cirrhosis caused by infection with hepatitis B or C virus, chemical damage such as by alcohol or a condition called non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH or fatty liver disease), which is a build-up of fat in the liver, eventually causing damage and cirrhosis and is usually associated with diabetes and obesity. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a malignant cancer of the cells lining the tubules of the kidney and is the most common form of kidney cancer.
